Monthly Spanish Hot Topic

The Hot Topic is offered two or three times a month (same class presented each time). Can’t join a live class? The Hot Topic recording and materials are available. Please register below and request the recording and materials from Dena Marie in lieu of a live session.

 

JULY’S HOT TOPIC: BEEN

¿Cómo se dice BEEN en español? ¿Estado? ¿Sido? It turns out there are more than 10 (that’s right, TEN!) ways to say the equivalent of the English past participle been in Spanish–estado and sido are only two of them. The following examples use different verbs or structures to communicate the Spanish forms of been; how many do you recognize?

* It has been really hot here lately.
* We have been so busy this year.
* Sorry that I haven’t been able to call you back.
* There hasn’t been an opportunity to collaborate.
* It has been a pleasure working with you.
* They haven’t been living here for very long.
* I have never been more afraid!
* Have there been any issues with the new technology?
* We have been friends for many years.
* My family has been traveling in Spain all summer.
* The results haven’t been published yet.

 

This Hot Topic is divided into three parts. July’s class will cover Part I, which is suitable for Low-Intermediate through Superior levels. Parts II and III will be offered in August and are suitable for High-Intermediate through Superior levels.

Hot Topic SERIES

Series classes explore a special topic over the course of 3-9 classes. Difficulty and duration of the series depend on the topic. Participants may attend the entire series or select certain lessons in the series to focus on specific applications of the topic. Unable to attend a live session?
