Monthly Spanish Hot Topic
The Hot Topic is offered two or three times a month (same class presented each time). Can’t join a live class? The Hot Topic recording and materials are available. Please register below and request the recording and materials from Dena Marie in lieu of a live session.
Hot Topic SERIES
Series classes explore a special topic over the course of 3-9 classes. Difficulty and duration of the series depend on the topic. Participants may attend the entire series or select certain lessons in the series to focus on specific applications of the topic. Unable to attend a live session? SI CLAUSES DEMYSTIFIED
Ever wonder why Spanish speakers sometimes say si tuviera and other times si tengo? What about si tenga? SI clauses are confusing! We need to debunk the misconceptions around SI. Through relatable examples, original conversations, and many “aha!” moments, you will master how to express possibilities, hypotheticals, advice, and future outcomes while avoiding the common pitfalls. Whether you’re talking about dreams, regrets, plans, or “what if” scenarios, using SI doesn’t have to be complicated. This little word is more straightforward than you might think.
Lesson 1 (6/4 or 6/5): the subjunctive vs. the indicative with SI
Lesson 2 (6/11 or 6/12): intro to alternative SI expressions and uses
Lesson 3 (6/18 or 6/19): more practice with alternative SI expressions and uses
