Advanced Spanish Classes
Advanced Topics in Spanish / Spanish 4 and beyond
For students with a solid foundation in Spanish 1-3 (i.e., those with a strong command of numerous verb tenses and the subjunctive mood who can comfortably elaborate descriptions and communicate analyses in written and verbal formats). This class aims to maximize fluency through a variety of mediums—literature, film, TED talks, interviews, news articles, music, and storytelling. Grammar topics presented are focused and tailored to the needs of the group. This level is equivalent to Spanish 4 and beyond in high school and college with a heavy literary and cultural slant. Classes often build on a topic from the previous week.

I have tried learning Spanish with many different teachers and programs, but Dena is the first to make me really love learning Spanish. While she excels at clarifying difficult grammar concepts, her close readings of Spanish and Latin American literature are a treat not to be missed for advanced students.
